The 2026 legislative “short session” began early, on December 1. The session will likely conclude by the end of February. Our League and those for Johnson and Brown (also serving Bartholomew) counties have invited legislators representing all four counties at the Statehouse to report on and discuss activities each month.

The League of Women Voters’ “Unite & Rise 8.5" campaign aims to bring out 8.5 million individuals to oppose the current administration’s anti-democratic actions. 8.5 million is the estimated number of voters it would take to bring about change through nonviolent protest.
